The most striking thing about Giving Back Packs is its simplicity: we hand out full backpacks to homeless people who have little or nothing.

But we’ve grown a lot since Rick handed out his first 25 backpacks in March 2015. Along the way, we’ve learned about connecting strategically with our community, managing donations and rapid growth, working with volunteers, building a nonprofit board, meeting the legal requirements of being a nonprofit, and much, much more.

Are you interested in starting a Giving Back Packs program in your city? There will be choices to make and requirements to meet along the way. We want to share what we’ve learned with you, because we believe that together we can succeed over the long term and bring care and resources to the people in your community who need it most.

We believe that the Giving Back Packs model can be implemented successfully in other cities, and we want to help it happen. We look forward to sharing what we have learned with you and giving you the tools you need to start a program of your own.

Attend a Seminar in Spokane

We are designing a 2-day curriculum to be presented in Spokane, Washington, to interested attendees from all over the country. It will be a strategic and educational program about building a Giving Back Packs program from scratch in a new city, covering the things we’ve learned along the way and everything we wish we had known back when.

The Giving Back Packs seminars will be presented twice a year to a limited number of attendees. Are you interested in joining us? Provide your information below, and we will be in touch with information about the upcoming calendar of Giving Back Packs seminars.
